An Introduction

Hi. Welcome to BourGroup and my blog. Phil

I am also an Enrolled Agent (EA) to represent taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service and to prepare tax returns.

"Phil"osophy: I believe that you can manage your money on your own (not necessarily through individual stock selection but through mutual funds, ETF's and other solutions) once you receive some one-time, professional guidance. Why pay annual fees when there may be little added value? For additional information, first read the "An Introduction" label at the left. Then move on to others.

Transportation and the Economy

I do not believe that the economy is nearing collapse. An old adage is to look at the DOW Transportation Index for a hint at what is happening in the economy.

A recent comment recorded by MarketWatch/MoneyNews is:

"...Fisher, who is CEO of Fisher Investments... the fact that the transport sector is doing extremely well means the U.S. economy is nowhere near a recession..."

And...

"..."Transports carry all the stuff," Fisher told Bloomberg. "As long as that sector remains high, we're shipping lots of stuff and don't have a weak economy. When we start having less usage of stuff in a recession, you'll see it in transport capacity utilization." ..."

This is an important sector to pay attention to as well as we move through these difficult times.
